Hi I’m Jane!
Jane M. Peralta was called to the Law Society of Alberta Bar in June 2022. She articled at a full-service law firm in Calgary, providing service to many different areas of law, where she gained the necessary skills, training, and experience. She has appeared many times before the Provincial Courts.
Jane has many years of legal experience, which started with a Bachelor of Laws from a reputable University in the Philippines, a Legal Assistant Diploma Course in Calgary, Alberta, and Certification from the Federation of Law Societies of Canada. She successfully completed the National Committee on Accreditation (NCA) examinations for internationally trained legal graduates in 2021. Before moving to Canada in 2014, she worked at the Regional Trial Court – Supreme Court of the Philippines for more than a decade.
Jane started her legal career in Canada as a Legal Assistant where she assisted lawyers in the practice areas of family, criminal, civil, commercial, real estate, wills and estates, and litigation. Now having started her own law firm, she will focus in the practice areas of Family Law and Divorce, Immigration Law, and Wills and Estates.
As a Filipino lawyer, she can help clients in the Filipino (Tagalog) language.
Jane believes in work-life balance. She loves spending her leisure time with her family going to the mountains and lakes.
Nash Sumagaysay
Nash Jan Sumagaysay built his legal foundation in the Philippines, practicing for more than a decade across criminal, family, labour, succession, and administrative law. He also served as a municipal administrator, leading departments, acting as mayor when required, and providing free legal advice to constituents. In private practice, he rose to partner in a law office.
In Canada, Nash earned the NCA Guides/Global Lawyers of Canada Scholarship, completed the National Committee on Accreditation exams in 2022, and finished the Practice Readiness Education Program (PREP) in 2024. He began his Canadian career as a legal assistant, gaining hands-on exposure to the Canadian legal system, then articled in one of the prestigious Law Firms in Calgary, Alberta.
He was recently called to the Law Society of Alberta Bar. At Peralta Law Firm, Nash will be focusing on the areas of Family, Criminal, and Immigration Law.
As Ilonggo, he serves clients in Kinaray-a, Hiligaynon (Ilonggo), Tagalog, and English. Outside work, he is grounded in family and faith and enjoys camping, the outdoors, and church with his family.
